    Description

    Extraordinarily Rare $500 Changeover Pair

Reverse Changeover Pair Fr. 2202-J/2201-J $500 1934A/1934 Federal Reserve Notes PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45 EPQ; About Uncirculated 50 EPQ.
Schwartz-Lindquist lists only two $500 changeover pairs (both on San Francisco) and not a single reverse changeover pair for the $500 denomination. Here is our first offering of a $500 reverse changeover pair and it is from the Kansas City district. We auctioned one of the two $500 changeover pairs in May, 2007. The two district L $500s graded raw Gem CU and realized $32,000. We do not expect that type of realization tonight, but the bidding may easily propel this reverse changeover pair beyond our estimate.
