Excessively Rare Gem 1928 $1000 Gold

Fr. 2408 $1000 1928 Gold Certificate. Gem Crisp Uncirculated.
This is a true monster of a note, and is very likely the finest $1000 small size Gold Certificate we have ever had in any of our sales. It comes from the denomination set of small size Gold Certificates offered here and was the pride of its owner from the day he obtained it at what was then an utterly outrageous figure. The colors are unbelievably bright, the paper white as snow, the centering perfect on the face and more than adequate on the back, and the overall effect simply dazzling to the eye. We don't really know what this piece will bring, but, whatever the number, it will look like a bargain once the hammer has fallen.
