Bright and Original Gem 1928 Gold Certificate $100

Fr. 2405 $100 1928 Gold Certificate. PCGS Gem New 65PPQ.
The Series 1928 Gold Certificates are alluring due to their short issuance. Just one small size issue of Gold Certificates was produced, and for just a few short years before they were discontinued under Franklin D. Roosevelt's war on gold. The distinct golden yellow overprint sets them apart from other series. Issued examples in high grade are particularly scarce for the $100, $500, and $1,000 modern day grade rarities with no shortage of demand. This example is one of the exceptional pieces, with a bold overprint, crispy white paper, and solid margins. No Superb Gem examples have been graded by PMG or PCGS, and 66s have realized $78,000 to over $105,000 over the last half decade. An incredible piece destined for the finest of Small Size collections.
