    Description

Stunning Gem Uncirculated $100 Gold Certificate

Fr. 2405 $100 1928 Gold Certificate. PCGS Gem New 65PPQ.
Series 1928 Gold Certificates were a short lived issue. Though Series 1934 issues were printed and used in transactions between the Treasury and Federal Reserve system, none are known to exist. Thus, the 1928 Series are the only small size Gold Certificates available to collectors. Rarity is not an issue for collectors. However, though the number of high grade examples does little to meet collector demand. This is just the second Gem to be offered in as many years, the last, a PMG Gem 66 EPQ realized $105,750 in our January 2016 FUN Signature Auction. The note here is perfectly embossed with a bold overprint, full margins, and brilliant paper.
