    Colorful New York $5000

Fr. 2221-B $5,000 1934 Federal Reserve Note. PMG Very Fine 30 Net.
Treasury records indicate 11,520 1934 $5000s were printed for the New York Federal Reserve. Interestingly, only one survivor in the census has a number above 1000, and at B00002403A, it is likely that very little of the issued notes ever left the Federal Reserve Bank or another large institution that redeemed their entire deposit. This piece is in that low serial number range at 822 and features a lime green overprint that we see with many of the lowest serial numbers issued among the districts.
Tonight's offering has sustained moderate circulation and has a few minor edge repairs, but it retains virtually its full original color and has the appearance of a much higher grade.
