    Unique Dallas $100 Star Note

Fr. 1890-K* $100 1929 Federal Reserve Bank Note. Fine.
The much awaited unique Dallas $100 star, making its first auction appearance after Dr. Cookson obtained it in the 2001 Memphis sale, where it realized $33,000 amid heated bidding. That figure appeared awfully high back in 2001, but now that some time has passed and this note still remains unique it might well be viewed as a bargain price this evening, as only one collector among the many aficionados of this series might ever have the opportunity to own a complete set of regular and star Federal Reserve Bank Notes...and, after this evening, that opportunity might be gone forever.
