    A mule star, this piece shows the final back plate number for $1,000 notes which is macro back plate number 8. It is an evenly circulated example with low serial number 517 and solid paper for the grade, though some light staining has been noted by PMG. San Francisco is one of the more available districts for $1,000 stars, enabling a collector to obtain a high denomination replacement note for less than a five-figure price.
