    Description

$5 San Francisco 1928/1928A Changeover Pair

Fr. 1950-L/1951-L $5 1928/1928A Changeover Pair Federal Reserve Notes. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ/Choice Uncirculated 63 EPQ.
We have offered very few San Francisco changeover or reverse changeover pairs over the years and that includes all Federal Reserve Note denominations. In fact, this is the very first San Francisco $5 changeover or reverse changeover pair to cross our auction block. The Schwartz-Lindquist tenth edition lists only three changeover and reverse changeover $5 pairs for the twelfth district and that does not include the changeover pair in this lot. The notes in this pair possess both bold embossing and natural paper wave. In addition, the inks remain dark and the paper white for this well preserved pair. San Francisco is certainly a key to completing a district set of changeover pairs for this denomination. (Total: 2 notes)
