Fr. 288 $10 1880 Silver Certificate PCGS Choice New 63PPQ.We have sold this lovely note once before in January of 2011 as lot 16883, where it realized $16,100. At that time we used this description..."A beautiful, perfectly natural example of this scarce 1880 Silver Certificate type. Fr. 288 is also a less-commonly-seen number, with only a few more than 70 pieces known, as compared to its type-mate, Fr. 289, with about 175 examples enumerated. This is an unmolested note, with bright color, original surfaces and lots of eye appeal, and is part of the run that has supplied Uncirculated examples to collectors for decades." Nothing has changed but the census numbers. There are now seventy-six Fr. 288s known and the census for Fr. 289 has risen to one hundred ninety-five.
