    Description

1886 $1 Silver Certificate - One of Fewer Than Two Dozen At or Above This Grade

Fr. 215 $1 1886 Silver Certificate PCGS Gem New 66PPQ.
A letter-perfect note, with ideal centering of both sides, full originality, and bold colors. Fr. 215 is the first of the Martha numbers, and it has always been popular as a Type Note. This one is a lovely example that would make the fussiest Type Note collector proud. PCGS has graded only fourteen Fr. 215s at or above this level. When we previously sold this very note in our 2011 Long Beach sale, it realized over $3,700, a number that should easily be surpassed this evening.
