    Description

Eagle Point, WI- Arctic Bank $20 18__ G6a Krause G6a Proof PCGS Very Choice New 64.
The highest denomination from the series and an impressive Proof in many regards. The vignette and layout are outstanding work by Wellstood, Hay & Whiting, New York & Chicago. The focal point of this design is a large vignette depicting a globe with four allegorical females representing continents; two are seated at the top and the others are leaning on the sides as they stand in the clouds. The astrological signs appear on a band encircling the globe diagonally. This central vignette is seen only on the Globe Bank, Providence, Rhode Island notes and this $20 Arctic Bank to the best of our knowledge. Printed on India paper and mounted on original cardstock with the usual POCs in the signature lines (although not punched all the way through). This bank was not represented in the 1990 ABNCo Archives sale and this note is almost assuredly unique in private hands. A top notch Proof from Wisconsin that presents a tremendous opportunity.
