Richmond, VA- Rough & Ready Saloon (A.B. and A.J. Hall) 15¢ Feb. 1, 1862 J-L PR PMG Very Fine 20 Net.
The saloon was located at the corner of Main and 9th Streets in 1862 and fancied itself as a purveyor of oysters, fish, and "other luxuries." The note features vignettes of Justice standing at left and a passenger train at center. PMG notes that this example has been backed, although this has been done well and is not glaringly obvious. Jones-Littlefield R-7, indicating 2-4 known survivors. We have sold one other example in much lower condition at our 2017 CSNS Currency Signature Auction for $587.
