Richmond, VA- Farmers Bank of Virginia $8 May 19, 1852 G262 Jones BR25-41
A very rare $8 note with a stellar pedigree which can be traced back to the January, 1983 Affleck sale conducted by NASCA, where this note was lot 1810. Payable at the bank's branch in Lewisburg, this is a decent circulated example which was the finest that Charles Affleck, a pioneer collector of Virginia obsoletes and the author of the earliest reference on its notes, was able to obtain. Fine, with a miniscule repair barely worthy of mention.
