    Richmond, VA- Bank of the Commonwealth $50; $100 1858 G8a; G10a J-L BR15-40; BR15-45 Fine.
These two high denomination notes were part of the bank's initial registered series of notes that was issued between 1858 and 1861. These high denomination notes are quite scarce, with most being redeemed rather than retained. Both notes have seen time in circulation but have escaped the experience essentially unscathed. There is a faint hint of some stamp hinge adhesive residue on the $50.
From the Aberon Collection of Virginia Obsolete Banknotes (Total: 2 notes)
