    Description

Exceptionally Rare Virginia $15 Proof ex-Ford Collection

Norfolk, VA- Exchange Bank of Virginia $15 G115 Jones UNL Proof
A rare and lovely $15 Proof which was described as "Extremely rare and Important" when it was sold as part of the John J. Ford, Jr. collection in May of 2005. In that sale the cataloguer mentioned that he could track only two of these $15 Proofs, one which sold in the Vacca and Affleck sales and this example, which Ford had obtained in 1957 and had not been on the market since. There is one tiny nick at the top right corner, and a small area of pencil on the back (which could be removed in a matter of seconds) but the note is otherwise just the faintest of bends from perfection. About Uncirculated, a wonderful Virginia rarity fit for the finest of collections.
