    Lynchburg, VA- Merchants Bank of Virginia $7 18__ as G6 as Jones-Littlefield BL40-30 Proprietary Proof PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
    The bank was authorized in 1851 and remained in business into the Civil War, although sources are unclear as to its final fate. The note depicts Moneta seated, and has a portrait of a sailor and the state treasurer's die. This is a modern proof printed from the original plate by ABNCo in the 20th century, with the back being appropriately stamped. Rarity at present is undetermined.
