    Harrisonburg, VA- Bank of Rockingham $10 Jan. 1, 1859 G4a J-L BH15-16 PMG Choice Fine 15.
    The bank started life as the Citizens Bank of Virginia in 1853 but began operating under this banner in 1854. It continued in business and came out of the Civil War to become the First National Bank of Harrisonburg in 1865. The $5 has a central vignette of two milkmaids at work flanked by a somewhat stylized version of the treasurer seal and a vignette of a locomotive. This later printing, which includes the ABNCo monogram. is represented by 5-9 surviving examples according to Jones-Littlefield. PMG notes a small tape repair at bottom center.
