    Fairmont, VA- Fairmont Bank $1 ? 10, 1861 G6a J-L BF05-06 PMG Very Good 10.
    The bank was authorized in 1851 and survived the Civil War to become the First National Bank of Fairmont in 1865 during the final weeks of hostilities. This well circulated, but still pleasing. note has vignettes of a woman feeding a horse and a campfire scene. There is also a large red 1-ONE protector. Fully intact with a rounded upper left corner. Very rare, with 2-4 known examples per Jones-Littlefield.
