    Unique Historic Scrip Note

Nashville, TN- The Bank of the State of Tennessee (Second) 50¢ June 20, 1824 G18 Garland 831
While Haxby and Garland both knew that this note should exist, neither had ever seen it. It is the only note for this design listed in the Schafluetzel Tennessee census and appears to be unique at present. PCGS grades the note Apparent Fine 12 due to a number of internal and edge tears and slightly tattered edges, but it should not make any difference on a note of this excessive rarity. The sage advice "Bad breath is better than no breath at all" certainly applies here.
