    Operating from 1853-57, the Bank of Nashville had only one president and cashier, Nicholas Hobson and Wesley Wheless. This Proof depicts a spread eagle with a banner and shield at the center, Liberty and Ceres at left, and Liberty at right. The Garland reference Early Tennessee Banks and Their Issues, rates the rarity of this note as an R-14, 2-4 known. Previously mounted, this note has the usual punch out cancels in the signature area.
