    Rare Central City Ace

Central City, Dakota Territory- First Central Bank $1 1877
This is a great Dakota Territory item from the Black Hills that has been fully issued. We can document positively only two notes on this issuer, this piece, which is ex-Ford, and the ex-Durand/Schingoethe remainder. This note is fully signed, dated, and numbered. It is serial number 82 and sports the hand signature of bank manager Dorr Heffleman. There is also a detailed mining vignette at left. It is printed on both sides and it was redeemable interestingly in amounts of 1/2 ounce in gold dust at $18 per ounce. This is a snappy About Fine that is very appealing for the grade. It is also a very historical note and one that may be unique in issued form.
