    Providence, RI- Exchange Bank $2 18__ G26a Durand 1296 Proof PMG About Uncirculated 55.
    The Exchange Bank was incorporated in 1801 and remained in business until becoming the National Exchange Bank (Ch. 1339) in 1865. The $2 design features a large allegorical vignette representing Commerce, Agriculture, and Industry at right as well as an unidentified male portrait flanked by cherubs and an oval portrait of Webster at lower left. The state coat of arms appears at bottom center and a red 2 protector is incorporated. The note is printed on India paper with the usual POCs in the signature lines. PMG notes that the upper right corner tip has been reattached.
