Providence, RI- Bank of North America $2 182_ G10 as Durand 1051 Proof PMG Uncirculated 62.
The bank was incorporated in 1823 and remained in business until becoming the National Bank of North America in 1865. Intricately engraved by Reed & Pelton, the note features a lone vignette of Hope and Knowledge. There is an early example of protectors, a gray and white TWO over both signature spaces. The note is printed on India paper with no POCs or other cancellations present. The note has a storied provenance back to the FCC Boyd estate and was once part of the Abner Reed archive. While not as flashy as some later proofs, this example makes up for it with history.

    Estimate: $600 - $1,000.
