Providence, RI- Bank of Commerce in Providence $1 Dec. 1, 1864 G2b Durand 1026 PCGS Fine 15.
Not surprisingly the center vignette on this note depicts Commerce seated by bales. She is flanked by a vignette of a sailor with a telescope at left and History writing on a tablet at right. This was issued late in the note issuing period, immediately before the bank became the National Bank of Commerce (Charter 1366). A pleasant appearing example with even wear and no repairs or condition distractions. This is the only genuine example we have sold.
