Philadelphia, PA- Bank of Pennsylvania $50 18__ Proof G190 PMG Uncirculated 62.
Heroic vignette of the Pennsylvania state seal at center with Independence Hall in the background. Unknown circular portraits at the lower corners. Untinted and seen with grey "FIFTY" at bottom center. The Haxby Plate Note and formerly part of the Western Reserve collection. PMG notes Previously mounted, small tears. Neither of these issues are visually of particular significance. The Bank of Pennsylvania was one of our fledgling nation's earliest commercial banks (1794-1857). The tinted $50 proofs of this type are somewhat available, particularly so in high grade. This untinted type is the only example we have seen in the past couple of decades. Excessively rare.
