    Description

    Harrisburg, PA- Harrisburg Bank $5 185_ as G38 as Hoober 148-18 PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.
    The bank was organized in 1814 and went on to become the Harrisburg National Bank in1864. This note features a panoramic vignette that spans the width of the note with allegorical representatives of Manufacturing at left and Agriculture at right, flanking a vignette of the Pennsylvania State Capitol (1822-1897) which was destroyed in a fire in 1897. The note is printed on India paper mounted on cardstock with the usual small POCs in the signature lines. There were eight examples of this design (including this note) in the 1990 ABNCo Archives sale.
