    Oswego Iron Company 5¢

Oswego, OR- Oswego Iron Company's Storekeeper 5¢ Dec. 1, 1881
An excessively rare issuer with this fully issued note being pen signed, dated, and serial numbered. We have offered only one example previously on this issuer. Our earlier offering had a slightly different company name, but the same superintendent signed both notes. The earlier piece was part of the Eric P. Newman Collection. It graded PCGS VF 20 and realized $2,350 in April 2015. Today's example grades PCGS Fine 15 with splits and tears, tape repairs on the back, and minor stains. The note still faces up nicely.
