The Geauga Insurance Company, although incorporated by the state as an insurance company in 1834, was an unauthorized note issuer and failed in 1841. The $2 has been patched and repaired and grades perhaps Good, while the $3 grades Good-Very Good, with a small divot out of the upper left margin and water staining. Only two examples of the $2 and five examples of the $3 are presently known outside of museum holdings.
