Description

    Mount Vernon, OH- The Owl Creek Bank of Mount Vernon $1; $3; $10 1816 G12; G14; G18 Wolka 1750-05; -06; -09
The Owl Creek Bank was one of Ohio's more famous early banks. Like so many of its brethren, the bank lasted for a matter of two years from 1816 to 1818 before collapsing, although lawsuits continued until 1859. These notes all grade Very Good-Fine with no damage or repairs noted and each depicts an owl perched in a tree. The $10 is a good bit scarcer than the other denominations.
