Excessively rare legitimately signed and issued noteFranklin, OH- The Franklin Silk Company $1 June 15, 1837 Wolka 1124-01
Due to the discovery of over 1,000 uncut sheets of notes in 1925, this is one of the most common issuers in the state...except when the note is fully issued and legitimately signed. And that is the case with this $1. Signed by Zenas Kent, whose efforts to introduce silk worms into northern Ohio failed, went on to become involved in banking until his death in 1865. There are two known legitimately signed and issued examples presently known, with this being one of them. Fine.
