The Lorain Branch opened in 1847 and remained in business until it became the First National Bank of Elyria (Charter 438) in 1864. The branch had a modest outstanding circulation of $9,782 in 1866. This well printed proof, featuring portraits of Judges Jacob Burnet and Ebenezer Lane, is graded Choice About New 58PPQ by PCGS and is one of two examples presently known. The other example, in similar condition, sold in our 2014 FUN Signature Auction for $1,762.50.
