    Dresden, OH- Unknown Issuer at L.J. Lemert, Banker 5¢; 10¢; 25¢; 50¢ Nov. 25, 1862 Remainders Wolka 1034-01; -02; -03; -04
Lewis Joshua Lemert was a broker in business in Dresden circa 1860-62. By 1864, Lemert & Son was advertising as a dry goods business. It is uncertain whether the dry goods business replaced the brokerage business or whether it was run as a second business. The four values comprise a complete denomination set and grade Uncirculated with the exception of the 25¢ note which grades Extremely Fine-About Uncirculated with three faint folds. Each note is punch canceled and has a four digit red stamped number suggesting that these examples may have been retained in the printer's archives or were used as customer approval specimens. Also included is an issued 25¢ note issued by a local merchant, O.F. Edwards, who was located on Main Street in Dresden. This note grades Good-Very Good with several large splits which have been reinforced on the back. All five notes are unique.
