Description

    Cuyahoga Falls, OH- W.A. Hanford 10¢ (30) - 50¢ (6) 1862 Wolka 943-06 Uncut Sheet
A complete rare uncut remainder sheet and described in the Wolka Ohio opus as "may no longer exist in uncut sheet form." These notes were store scrip for a mercantile concern managed by W.A. Hanford. Research by Wendell Wolka that appeared in Paper Money indicates that this merchant's name was Hanford, not Stanford as many had previously thought. The notes were payable at the Summit County Bank that later became the First National Bank of Cuyahoga Falls, charter number 378. The sheet grades About Uncirculated with a horizontal fold between the fifth and sixth rows. There is also aging along the edges and several left edge splits with the longest being approximately one inch.
