DescriptionCincinnati, OH- The Bank of Cincinnati $10 (2) 1814-18 G24; UNL Wolka 0375-031; -032
These two $10s both date from the bank's first period of activity from 1814 to 1819. The demand note features a vignette of Cincinnatus, the namesake of the city. It is a very early dated 1814 issue and grades Fine with a clean X slash cancel. It bears an endorsement that it was entered in 1829, probably as part of some legal action. The 1818 dated $10 post note also grades Fine with a clean X slash cancel and also bears the telltale evidence of the bank's fate. The first endorsement notes that payment was demanded in 1821 and the second that the note had been filed, again probably as evidence, in 1829. Two examples of the post note are presently known in private hands.
