Bristol, RI- Eagle Bank $2 Jan. 1, 1848 G16 as Durand 112 PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.
A handsome note, this $2 makes use of expansive allegorical vignettes of Liberty with an eagle as well as Agriculture with an unidentified floating allegorical maiden holding a denominational shield. Although known as a proof to Haxby, only one additional note was added to the known population with the appearance of this $2 as part of lot 1802 in the 1990 ABNCo Archives sale. It is likely that there are only two, or perhaps one or two more, survivors.
