    Description

Perth Amboy, NJ- Commercial Bank of New Jersey $1 July 10, 1856
The bank was in business from 1822 until 1851. Although revived, it failed again in 1856. The lower left corner on this New Jersey Obsolete features a farmer while the lower right corner includes a sailor. The central vignette includes various farm animals. This revived bank issue is the variety with a printed serial number and without an overprint. Several small tears are seen at the margins, not uncommon for this grade level. Very Good.
