    Succeeding the previous Newark Banking and Insurance Company in the mid 1850s, the Newark Banking Company continued in business until 1865 when it became the National Newark Banking Company. With a well balanced green and black design with two large green V protectors and green borders, the note is printed on India paper mounted on cardstock with the usual POCs in the signature lines. One of three known.
