    Description

Egg Harbor City, NJ- Egg Harbor Bank $1 July 1, 1861
This is one of the great city names in Obsolete collecting. Egg Harbor got its name from the Dutch explorer Cornelius Jacobsen Mey. In 1614 he came upon an inlet where the nearby meadows were so covered with shorebird and waterfowl eggs that he named the surrounding area "Eyren Haven" - Egg Harbor. This is an evenly circulated Fine Ace.
