    Rare New Hampshire Scrip

Manchester, NH- Putney's Dry Goods Store 2¢ Aug. 1, 1864
A very rare piece of scrip and only the second example we have ever offered on this merchant. Putney's was a dry goods establishment located on Hanover St. Putney was a vocal Southern sympathizer and the his partnership with Fearing split in two after Fearing was appointed colonel of the 8th New Hampshire Regiment. Very Fine.
