Lancaster, NH- White Mountain Bank $2 May 1, 1857 G8a PCGS Apparent Very Good 08.
A seldom seen but very popular note for one reason; the center vignette is a great Santa Claus scene. Using the Durand classifications, this is a Type I vignette produced by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson and engraved by possibly Freeman Rawdon, George W. Hatch, or James P. Major. PCGS notes repairs, several replaced pieces, and hinges on the back. The Santa vignette is not impacted by any of the replaced pieces.
