Natchitoches, LA- Corporation of Natchitoches $3 Certificate of Deposit April 16, 1862 PCGS Fine 15.
Founded in 1714, Natchitoches found itself in the middle of a number of skirmishes during the Civil War. The note features a vignette of a fire wagon and was secured by a special deposit of New Orleans bank notes and CSA treasury notes. There is also an interesting notice that the note would not be redeemed if it was cut, a somewhat common practice to make change. While the note has seen circulation it is completely intact, with only even wear.
