Vicksburg, MS- Bank of Vicksburg $10 18__ as G10 Kraus 4401p Proof PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.
The Bank of Vicksburg was in business for a short period of time between 1837 and 1840 with branches in Oswego and Woodville. This note features an unusual vignette of Mercury and Ceres as a young couple and is printed on India paper mounted on cardstock with no POCs. There are a couple of glue spots at bottom left and right. There were three examples of this design in the 1990 ABNCo Archives sale probably accounting for the lion's share of surviving examples of this note.
