Description

St. Paul, MN- Dayton Bank $2
The Dayton Bank was not authorized by the state of Minnesota. Nonetheless, that minor detail did not prevent this "bank" from having $1s, $2s, and $5s printed by Danforth, Wright & Co. The portrait is of Lyman Dayton, who in 1849 purchased 5000 acres of land near St. Paul. This Deuce is a remainder with signature lines for the "Cashr." and the "Banker." Very Fine+.
