    Paw Paw, MI- Thomas L. Stevens 25¢; 75¢ Oct. 16, 1862; Remainder
    A very rare pair of unlisted scrip notes from a great town name in Michigan, these notes were issued by Alonzo Sherman and payable at Thomas L. Stevens in Paw Paw. These two men had formed a private banking partnership which operated from 1854 to 1857 before changing names. Sherman went on to become the president of the First National Bank of Paw Paw (Charter 1521) in 1865, with Thomas L. Stevens serving on the Board of Directors. The fully issued 25¢ note grades PCGS Extremely Fine 40 with minor ink erosion noted while the previously unknown 75¢ Remainder grades Extremely Fine 45 with minor stains noted. Rare and historic.
