    Description

Jackson, MI- Parson's Chain of Business Colleges $5 July, 1867 Schingoethe UNL
A discovery piece from this chain of schools, as Schingoethe notes that "the Kalamazoo school was the only one currently believed to have issued currency." This Jackson issue clearly predates the school's setting up headquarters in Kalamazoo in 1869, as the reverse lists schools in Ann Arbor, Adrian, Grand Rapids, and Jackson. Good, severed and repaired on the reverse, but likely unique.
