    Description

Jackson, MI- Detroit & St. Joseph Rail Road Bank $1 April 9, 1840
The few examples of this denomination that we've handled brought in excess of $100 and were moderately circulated. This piece is Extremely Fine-About Uncirculated with just two minor folds. What's more important though is the serial number. It is Serial Number 1 and numbered in the same pen by the Cashier W. Budington. We have no idea if the A.C. Ford listed as the payable bearer is any relation to Henry Ford.
