    Description

Flint Rapids, MI- Farmers Bank of Genesee County $5 Jan. 4, 1838 G8 Lee FLI-4-5
The president of this short-lived bank, which was open for less than a year in 1838, embezzled $50,000 in the bank's assets and fled to Indiana. This note has a rich variety of vignettes including a signed George Hatch vignette of "Jupiter" and Samson wrestling a lion. "Justice" stands on the right end of the note. The back of the note has a manuscript promissory note apparently unrelated to this bank. Fine-Very Fine.
