    Description

Flint Rapids, MI- Farmers Bank of Genesee County $1 Jan. 10, 1838 G2 Lee FLI-4-2
The president of the bank absconded with $50,000 in bank funds and fled to Indiana assuring that the bank failed shortly after its opening in 1838. The note layout is quite busy with a signed Freeman Rawdon vignette of "Vulcan" and "Mercury", a quaint early train, and an oval vignette of "Commerce." About Uncirculated with the top margin inexplicably trimmed down to the top of the vignette frame on the left.
