Detroit, MI- The State Bank of Michigan $2, $3, and $5 18__ Remainders
A lovely trio of black and red remainders that were ornately engraved by the American Bank Note Company and utilized Lyman's Protection as a counterfeit deterrent (the design was split in different proportions depending upon the denomination.) The $2 note has a vignette of an American Indian spearing a buffalo from horseback, the $3 example displays a vignette of a farmer carrying his harvest, and the $5 piece has a sidewheeler steamboat. The $2 has a minor trace of a stamp hinge on its back and the $5 is trimmed slightly into the design in the bottom right corner. About Uncirculated or Better. (Total: 3 notes)
