    Detroit, MI- Detroit Bank $5 Oct. 24, 1806
    This example is from the first issue of notes from the Detroit Bank and was signed by Cashier William Flanagan and President (Judge) Augustus Brevart Woodward. The bank was chartered in 1806 and closed two years later. It was located at Jefferson and Randolph streets on the northwest corner. An interesting history of the bank is presented in Lee's Michigan Obsolete Bank & Scrip Notes of the 19th Century on pages 131-136. Choice About Uncirculated.
